Acrylic on paper or canvas
MONOTYPES
Oil-based or Acrylic inks on paper. MONOTYPES are made by drawing or painting on a smooth, non-absorbent surface which, in contemporary work, can vary from zinc or glass to an acrylic plate. This type of printmaking produces only one unique work, as in a painting or a drawing.
ENCAUSTICS
Melted beeswax with colored pigments and damar varnish. The mixture is then applied to a surface – either wood, paper or canvas.
DRAWINGS
Black or colored inks on paper
CHINE COLLÉ
CHINE COLLÉ is a combination of both Monotype printmaking and Collage. Pieces of paper and ephemera that have glue applied to the underside are placed onto an inked and painted plate, glue side up. When run through a press the colored collage papers fasten to the top of the inked monotype resulting in a unique one-of-a-kind art piece.
